This silver certificate bears the signatures of Walter O. Woods (Treasurer of the United States, January 1929 to March 1933) and Andrew W. Mellon (Secretary of the Treasury, March 1921 to February 1932). The reverse of this note was used only 1928-34, with the more familiar Great Seal reverse appearing in 1935. This note is nicknamed the "funny back." It is common in worn condition but very rare to be found in circulation as this one was.
