Aureo sale 246, lot 1214
This specimen was lot 1214 in Aureo y Calicó sale 246 (Barcelona, September 2012), where it sold for 540 € (about $820 including buyer's fees). The catalog[1] noted,
"1947*E-51. Estado Español. 1 peseta. Bella. Rara. S/C. (Spanish state, one peseta of 1951. Nice, rare, uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1948-67 in large numbers and most dates are common. This date is the key and was issued for a coin show in December 1951. Altho the date below the bust is 1947, the actual date is in the stars on the reverse.

Recorded mintage: est. 5,000 plus 9,185,000 of the regular issue.

Specification: aluminum bronze, 21 mm diameter.
