Áureo y Calicó sale 347, lot 432
This specimen was lot 432 in Áureo y Calicó sale 347 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €34,000 (about US$44,768 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1847. Isabel II. Madrid. DG (Departamento de Grabado). 20 reales. Muy bella. Brillo original. Única conocida. S/C-. (kingdom of Spain, Isabel II, twenty reales of 1847, Madrid mint, assayer's initials DG (engraving department). Very handsome, original luster, only one known. About uncirculated.)"
This pattern features the hairstyle used 1850-55. The catalog value assigned by Cayón suggests that more than one exists. No twenty reales were issued for circulation in 1847.

Recorded mintage: unknown but very rare, perhaps unique.

Specification: 27.07 g, .896 fine silver, .785 troy oz ASW, this specimen 25,07 g.

Catalog reference: KM unlisted, Cayón-17179, AC. 589.
