Shown is a Spanish two escudos struck in 1701 at the Seville mint. Assayer M is recorded for the years 1701-1702. This specimen was auctioned by Marti Hervera in Barcelona, Spain, on May 3, 2011, where it did not sell. The catalog description reads:
"2 Escudos. 1701. SEVILLA. M. Anv.: Puntos acotando el valor, ceca y ensayador. Buen ejemplar para este tipo. RARA. MBC+. (two escudos of 1701, Seville mint, assayer M, dots bordering the value, mint, and assayer. Good example of this type, RARE, choice extremely fine.)"
