Áureo y Calicó sale 347, lot 117
This specimen was lot 117 in Áureo y Calicó sale 347 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €600 (about US$792 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Reyes Católicos. Cuenca. 2 maravedís. Rarísima y más así. EBC-. (kingdom of Spain, Catholic kings, undated two maravedis, Cuenca mint. Very rare thus, about extremely fine.)"
This copper type comes in many varieties. We assign this to Cayón-2455 based on the patriarchal cross in front of the lion. The Gothic "C" above the lion's back is the mintmark.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper, this specimen 3,65 g.

Catalog reference: AC. 93, V.Q. 6701 (plate coin), Cayón-2455.
