This specimen was lot 23664 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $2,467.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Saxony. Johann Georg I Klippe Taler 1630, Dresden, AU55 NGC, housed in a jumbo holder. Commemorating the marriage of Mary Elizabeth, daughter of Johann Georg I, to Frederick VII of Holstein Gottorp. Boldly struck, with silvery-gray patina. Scarce in this condition." In addition to various commemorative types (Dav-7605, Dav-7605A, Dav-7606), there is the regular issue of 1620-38 (Dav-7601) and a klippe (Dav-7609), all dated 1630.
