Sarawak 1900-H 10 cents
This specimen was lot 1559 in Steve Album sale 16 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2013), where it sold for $82.60. The catalog description noted, "SARAWAK: Charles J. Brooke, rajah, 1868-1917, AR 10 cents, 1900-H, minor surface hairlines, NGC graded MS64 details." Sarawak, a British colony on the northwest coast of Borneo, was ruled by a dynasty of white rajahs from 1841 to 1946. This type was issued 1900 and 1906-15 from Heaton. It is reasonably available in low grade but expensive in nice condition. It is accompanied by silver five, twenty and fifty cents.
