Sincona sale 23, lot 2396
This specimen was lot 2396 in Sincona sale 23 (Zurich, May 2015), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$534 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Reuss, Ältere Linie (-Greiz), Fürstentum, Heinrich XXIV. 1902-1918 3 Mark 1909. Berlin Gutes vorzüglich. (Germany, principality of Reuss-Greiz, Henry XXIV (1902-18), three mark of 1909, Berlin mint, good extremely fine.)"
This three mark is the last issue from this state. The last prince, Heinrich XXIV, abdicated in the maelstrom of the collapse of the Wilhelmine regime in 1918.

Recorded mintage: 10,000 plus 400 proofs.

Specification: 16.66 g, .900 fine silver, 33 mm diameter, this specimen 16.69 g.
