This coin was minted in Lima, Peru, of a type struck 1791-1808 using the standard bust of Charles IV. This type is the most numerous of one escudo issues from Peru but it is much scarcer than contemporary dates from Mexico or Colombia.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, .875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW.
