This specimen was lot 236 in Áureo y Calicó sale 347 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €3,600 (about US$4,751 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1744. Felipe V. Lima. V. 8 escudos. Doble fecha, la de la leyenda: 44. Rara. MBC+. (kingdom of Spain, Philip V, eight escudos of 1744, Lima mint. Double date in the legend. Rare, choice very fine.)"
This eight escudos was struck during the second reign of Philip V. Milled gold coinage commenced in 1751.
