Sincona sale 57, lot 3089
This specimen was lot 3089 in Sincona sale 57 (Zurich, May 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"THE NETHERLANDS | Batavische Republik, Silberdukat 1796, Overijssel. Äusserst selten. NGC XF45. (Netherlands, Batavian Republic, silver ducat of 1796, Overijssel mint. Extremely rare.)"
This type was struck throughout the eighteenth century for the United Provinces until 1794 and then for the Batavian Republic 1795-96. This type is also called a rijksdaalder or 2½ gulden.

Recorded mintage: 49,000 for 1795-96.

Specification: 28.25 g, .873 fine silver, this specimen 28.01 g.
