This specimen was lot 73330 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES. West Friesland. Duit, 1792. PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. Little actual wear is evident on this alluring specimen, exceeded in the PCGS census by a sole example. Delightfully red-brown and still possessing some mint luster." Westfriesland issued this type 1729-37, 1743-56 and 1764-94. Besides Westfriesland, Utrecht, Gelderland, Holland and Zeeland struck duits for the East Indies. Most dates are common. Gold and silver presentation strikes exist but not for 1792.
