This specimen was lot 72607 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1880-Pi H. San Luis Potosi Mint. PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield. RARE date. Light adjustment marks on the reverse mentioned for accuracy. Otherwise the piece exhibits a sharp strike, frosty devices and lovely satiny surfaces. A thin veneer of tone lends to the good eye appeal." Shown is an 1880PiH five centavos, of a type struck 1870-81 and 1886-97. This issue from Potosi is rare. Other mints include Hermosillo, Culiacan, Durango, Alamos, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Oaxaca and Zacatecas.
