The first specimen was lot 2804 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $414. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Oaxaca. 8 Reales, 1879-OaAE. Light toning. NGC MS-63." This date from Oaxaca is reasonably common tho nice uncirculated specimens are scarce.
Recorded mintage: 153,000.
