This specimen was lot 11340 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $441. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Hermosillo. Centavo, 1876-Ho. RARE date. VERY FINE." The copper centavos of Hermosillo are generally scarce and when found, in low grade. Other dates include 1875, 1880 and 1881.

Recorded mintage: 8,508.

Specification: 8 g, copper, 25 mm diameter, reeded edge.
