This specimen was lot 31342 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 20 Pesos 1872 Mo-M AU Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, Mexico City mint. A well detailed specimen, cleaned long ago and now starting to retone. Still above average for this large gold issue, often encountered with much worse impairments. From The FoxLair Collection." This type was struck at Mexico City 1870-1905 and is the most available mint. An 1872/1 overdate is recorded.

Recorded mintage: 11,000.
