This specimen was lot 11261 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $306. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 4 Reales, 1854-MoGC. Very RARE, not priced in KM. Cleaned, mount mark on edge. VERY GOOD." The Mexico City mint struck four reales in 1827, 1850-63 and 1867-68. The years 1850, 1852 and 1854 are rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.

Specification: 13.54 g, .903 fine silver, .392 troy oz ASW.
