This specimen was lot 510 in Morton & Eden sale 104 (London, November 2019), where it sold for £1,200 (about US$1,859 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic, 8 reales, San Luis Potosí mint, 1849/8 PS/AM, eagle's breast weakly struck, very fine and rare." For 1849, the SCWC notes assayers AM (very rare), PS/AM (rare) and MC (scarce).
