Mexico 1833-Do RM/RL 8 escudos

This specimen was lot 1265 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $1,645. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Escudos, 1833-DoRM/RL. NGC AU-58." The Durango mint struck eight escudos 1832-70 and is one of the abundant mints tho less so than Culiacan or Guanajuato; most dates are common. The eagle is distinctive to Durango and can be found on all the silver and gold denominations.
