This specimen was lot 1498 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $440.63. The catalog description[1] noted, "KATANGA: 2 francs, 1961, tied for highest graded at PCGS, PCGS graded Specimen 65 RB, ex King's Norton Mint Collection." This type was struck for the rebel province of Katanga during its brief bid for independence 1960-63. A one franc also exists.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common. A few were struck in gold (KM 2a).

Specification: 6.54 g, bronze, 26.3 mm diameter.
