Stephen Album sale 37, lot 2900

This specimen was lot 2900 in Stephen Album sale 37 (Santa Rosa, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $130.90. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH INDIA: Edward VII, 1901-1910, AR rupee, 1904 (c), a lovely example with attractive original toning! PCGS graded MS63." The rupees of Edward VII were struck 1903-10 and most dates are common. Proofs are rare. The Bombay mint contributed an additional 101,949,000 in 1904.

Recorded mintage: 58,339,000 + proofs.

Specification: 11.66 g, 0.917 fine silver.
