The second specimen was lot 40204 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description[2] noted, "INDIA. Mohur, 1862-(C). NGC MS-62." This type was struck at Calcutta in numerous varieties with a frozen date until 1870. The last mohur was struck in 1891.
Recorded mintage: 153,000.
Specification: 11.66 g, .917 fine gold, .343 troy oz AGW.
