Hupeh Province is located in east-central China. The mint was active from the early Manchu dynasty, and adapted for modern coin mintage in 1895.

The specimen shown was lot 21315 in Stack's Bowers April 2012 Hong Kong Auction (Sale #165), where it sold for $508. The catalog description[1] noted, “Lot #21315. CHINA. Hupeh. 10 Cash, CD (1906). 丙午”鄂”字戶部大清銅幣十文。 罕見的好品相。2011年9月德國Kunker拍賣AU級的一枚以歐元2000元落槌。NGC MS-64 BN.”
