Honduras 1895 25 centavos
This type was struck in 1883-99, accompanied by similar five, ten, fifty centavos and one pesos. As dies were extensively reused, innumerable varieties exist. For 1895, the SCWC lists 1895/83 and 1895/890. Despite the derisory mintage, this date is listed as common. In 1899, the denomination was reduced to .835 fine (KM 50a), leading to more varieties as many dies engraved "0.900" were simply overstamped "0.835."
Recorded mintage: 12,000.
Specification: 6.25 g, .900 fine silver, .180 troy oz ASW.
Catalog reference: KM 50.
