Honduras 1888 peso
This specimen was lot 23022 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $144. The catalog description noted, "HONDURAS. Peso, 1888. PCGS EF-45 Gold Shield. Handsomely toned with only mild, even wear, this wholesome example features some deeper peripheral toning and some lighter central hints around the devices." This specimen shows large cuds on the reverse. The peso was dropped in favor of the lempira in 1931.
