This specimen was lot 86 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 250 euro (about US$396 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1797. Guatemala. M. 8 reales. Pátina. Escasa. MBC+/EBC. (eight reales of 1796, Guatemala mint, toned, scarce, very fine to extremely fine.)"This coin shows the standard bust of Charles IV as used throughout Latin America 1791-1808. This date is scarce but not rare like 1790-91.
