This specimen was lot 2500 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it sold for $646. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. 2 Pounds, 2008. Elizabeth II. Reverse: Handoff of the Olympic flag. NGC graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo. WINGS." This Olympic commemorative was struck in three formats: in base metal, in silver and in gold. We have noted here the mintages given in the SCWC altho they do not coincide with Seaby[2].

Recorded mintage: 918,000 plus 250,000 proofs plus unknown in silver plus 3,000 proofs in gold.

Specification: KM-1106: 12 g, bimetallic copper-nickel center in nickel-brass ring, 28.4 mm diameter; KM-1106a: .925 fine silver; KM-1106b: 15.98 g, .916 fine gold.
