"GERMAN COINS SINCE 1871, REICHSKLEINMÜNZEN. 1 Mark 1874, H. Feine Patina, fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, minor coinage of the empire, one mark of 1874-H. Fine patina, about uncirculated.)"This coin is a silver one mark from a type issued 1873-87 from the Berlin (mintmark "A"), Munich (mintmark "D"), Muldenhutten (mintmark "E"), Stuttgart (mintmark "F"), Karlsruhe (mintmark "G"), Darmstadt (mintmark "H", shown here) and Hamburg (mintmark "J") mints. Under the German Empire of 1871-1918, the denominations of two mark and up were permitted for the formerly independent principalities while the lower denominations (one pfennig thru one mark) were minted to a unified design.
Recorded mintage: 1,893,000, priced about triple the 1874-A.
