This specimen was lot 601 in Áureo y Calicó sale 345 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,584 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1798. Carlos IV. Santiago. DA. 4 escudos. Muy rara. MBC-/MBC. (kingdom of Spain, Charles IV, four escudos of 1798, Santiago mint. Very rare, about very fine.)"This type was struck at Santiago thru 1808 in very small quantities.
