This specimen was lot 455 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 60 euro (about US$95 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1796. Potosí. PP. 8 reales. Oxidaciones en anverso. MBC-. (eight reales of 1796, Potosí mint. Obverse corrosion, nearly Very fine.)"The assayer PP appears for 1794-1802.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 27.07 grams, .896 fine silver, .780 troy oz ASW.
