This specimen was lot 2086 in the Eliasberg sale, where it sold for $5,520. The catalog description[1] noted, "1736 PA 8 escudos. Seville mint. AU-50 (NGC). Types as above. Lustrous medium gold, even in color and highly attractive, no rim flaws but some minor hairlines. A very satisfying specimen of this challenging homeland type. Purchased from Watkins Coin Company, July 1943."
