This specimen was lot 1682 in Jean Elsen sale 117 (Brussels, June 2013), where it sold for €360 (about US$568 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''ALLEMAGNE, SAXE, Johann Georg Ier (1615-1656), AR Taler, 1630, Centenaire de la Confession d'Augsbourg. Droit: B. de l'électeur à droite, tenant une épée sur l'épaule d'une main, au-dessus de son écu. Revers: B. de Johann Ier à droite, tenant une épée sur l'épaule, entre quatre écussons. Très Beau à Superbe.'' ([[Germany]], Saxony, John George I (1615-56), silver thaler of 1630, centenary of the Confession of Augsburg. Obverse: bust of the Elector to right bearing a sword, arms below; reverse: bust of John I to right, sword on shoulder, four shields around. Very fine to extremely fine.)"</blockquote> In addition to this commemorative type (Dav-7605, Dav-7605A, [[Saxony 1630 thaler Dav-7606|Dav-7606]]), there is the regular issue of 1620-38 (Dav-7601) and a klippe ([[Saxony 1630 thaler Dav-7609|Dav-7609]]), all dated 1630.
