This specimen was lot 1388 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it sold for $881.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAXE-ERNESTINE LINE: Johann Friedrich I, 1532-1547, AR thaler, Goslar, 1543. bust of Philipp der Grossmütigen ("the Magnanimous") of Hessen on the reverse, attractive VF, S, ex Hans Mondorf Collection." This thaler is noted for 1542-47 and is fairly common for the era.
