This specimen was lot 3962 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €3,200 (about US$4,134 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN-COBURG-GOTHA Carl Eduard, 1900-1918. 20 Mark 1905. J. 274. Sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Charles Edward, 1900-18, twenty mark of 1905, very fine.)"This type is rare and is accompanied by an equally rare ten mark (KM 169) and two mark (KM 166). The duke abdicated at the end of World War One.
Recorded mintage: 10,000 plus a few proofs.
