This specimen was lot 31255 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $910.63. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "West Friesland. United East India Company silver Proof Duit 1736 PR64 NGC. According to the SCWC, these special presentation strikes were produced by the mintmaster on demand, and this particular issue features the curved-styled shield of West Friesland surrounded by underlying golden and royal-blue iridescence that shimmers throughout the glossy mirrors. Conditionally rare and a wonderful piece of United East India coinage." The Westfriesland mint struck copper duits for the East Indies 1729-94 and most dates are cheap. Silver duits are listed for 1731, 1736, 1746 and 1752 and more dates may exist. There were also issues from Holland (KM 70), Utrecht (KM 111.1), Zeeland (KM 152.3) and Gelderland ([[Netherlands East Indies 1791 duit KM-50.2|KM 50.2]]).
