This specimen was lot 6428 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $517.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Oaxaca. 8 Reales, 1878-AE. Nice strike, traces of adjustment marks. CHOICE BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." The SCWC lists the date as common.

Recorded mintage: 125,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
