The Manchurian Provinces were originally three separate entities which included Kirin Province and two others. They were known as the Eastern Provinces in Chinese. The Mongol-speaking portion of this area became part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region after 1949.
The specimen shown was lot 60485 in Ponterio sale 162 (Hong Kong, August 2011), where it sold for $19,120. The catalog description noted, “CHINA. Manchurian Provinces. 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), Year 33 (1907). L&M-487; K-255; Y-212; Hsu-409. NGC AU Details--Surface Hairlines. Ex: Stack's October 1977 Auction, lot# 848.
