Sincona sale 9, lot 3919
This specimen was lot 3919 in Sincona sale 9 (Zurich, October 2012), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$822 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Braunschweig-Lüneburg, Herzogtum Ernst August, 1913-1918. 5 Mark 1915, Berlin. Titel mit Lüneburg. Mit Gemahlin Viktoria Luise von Preussen, zum Regierungsantritt. Etwas matt getönt. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg, Ernest August, 1913-18, five mark of 1915, Berlin mint, obverse legend with Luneburg. With duchess Victoria Louisa of Prussia, on their coronation, toned, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type is scarce. The obverse was modified from the early issue to add "u. Luneb." (see Dav-637).

Recorded mintage: 8,600 plus proofs.

Specification: 27.77 g, .900 fine silver, 38 mm diameter.
