This specimen was lot 50315 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $658. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "Taler, ND. Ensisheim Mint. NGC MS-62. Archduke Ferdinand (1564-95). Legend end with 'AVSTR', lacking the 'IAE'." Davenport notes a considerable number of thalers and multiple thalers struck for the archduke, Dav-8088 thru Dav-8103, all without dates. None are rare.
