Zurich 1810-B 8 batzen
Switzerland was united in a loose confederation in the Middle Ages and left the Holy Roman Empire in 1648. Each canton issued its own coins until Switzerland was made a French puppet state by Napoleon. Cantonal issues resumed in 1807 and this eight batzen (or one fifth thaler) was issued 1810 and 1814.
