This specimen was lot 1198 in Jean Elsen sale 115 (Brussels, December 2012) where it sold for €1300 (about US$1,984 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, ZEELAND, Provincie, AR Bourgondische rijksdaalder, 1584, Middelburg. Droit: MONETA NOVA ARG COM ZEL Gekroond Bourgondisch kruis tussen jaartal. Revers: DOMINVS MI-HI ADIVTOR Gekroond wapenschild van Oostenrijk-Bourgondië omringd door de keten van het Gulden Vlies. Zeer Zeldzaam. Mooie patina. Ex HSA 18541. Zeer Fraai (province of Zeeland, burgundian rixdollar of 1584, Middelburg mint. Obverse: Burgundian cross divides date; reverse: crowned arms, Order of the Golden Fleece around. Very rare, nice patina, very fine.)"
Zeeland went on to issue many coins as part of the independent United Provinces until the time of Napoleon.
