This specimen was lot 755 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,175. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Wurzburg. Taler, 1786-WMP. Franz Ludwig von Erthal (1779-95). NGC MS-62. Sharply struck. Medium golden toning with some blue hues over lustrous surfaces. From the Rockaway Collection." This one year type is slightly scarcer than the average thaler from this locale. It is one of two different types issued in that year.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
