Sincona sale 51, lot 2959
This specimen was lot 2959 in Sincona sale 51 (Zurich, October 2018), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,809 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Republik, seit 1957. 10 Dinars AH 1400 (1980). Habib Bourguiba. KM - (dieser Jahrgang fehlt). Fr. vgl. 17 (dieser Jahrgang fehlt). NGC PF64 Ultra Cameo. (republic of Tunisia, since 1957, ten dinars of AH 1400, Habib Bourgiba. Missing in KM, missing in Freidberg, choice proof.)"
This type was struck in small numbers 1967-82 with Arabic (KM 332) and French legends (KM 331). A base metal ten dinars (KM 311) was also issued in 1980 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the return of Habib Bourgiba. It is unlikely to have circulated beyond the president's circle of cronies and supporters.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 18.77 g, .900 fine gold, .539 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: Fr-17, KM 332.
