This specimen was lot 32349 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Thorn. August II gold Ducat 1702 AU55 NGC, Lustrous and placed on a far above-average flan, with a sharp portrait of the king and only minor doubling of the surrounding legends. Bright mint luster also remains, and when combined with the pleasing orange-gold patina, certainly places this among the finest known for this rare and coveted city issue. The only date for the type, and as such, of extreme importance for the advanced collector of early Polish coinage." This is the last gold issue noted for this town.
