This specimen was lot 24812 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $2,585. The catalog description[1] noted, "Thorn. Vladislaus IV Taler 1639-II, VF Details (Tooled) NGC, medium gray patina, somewhat grainy surfaces with very light tooling in the exposed fields." The city of Thorn issued this thaler 1638-42 tho this specimen sold for five times the catalog value.
