This specimen was lot 31607 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Confederation Specimen Franc 1900-B SP62 PCGS, Bern mint. Russet toning, over fully mirrored surfaces, with a few light marks. Very rare as a Specimen, with only two examples certified by PCGS and NGC, and only a single piece finer than this coin. From the Redwood Collection, Part II." This date is fairly common. Prior to confederation in 1850, each Swiss canton issued its own coins.

Recorded mintage: 400,000 plus specimens.

Specification: 5 g, .835 fine silver, .134 troy oz ASW, 23.2 mm diameter, reeded edge.
