This specimen was lot 34349 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Confederation Franc 1894-A MS66 NGC, Paris mint. Very few marks on this coin are visible with alluring cabinet multi-color toning on the peripheries, a sharp strike, and soft radiant luster. This coin is tied for the finest known with another example at NGC. From the Redwood Collection, Part II." This date, the only one from the Paris mint, is slightly scarce. Prior to confederation in 1850, each Swiss canton issued its own coins.

Recorded mintage: 1,200,000 plus specimens.

Specification: 5 g, .835 fine silver, .134 troy oz ASW, 23.2 mm diameter, reeded edge.
