CNG Lissner sale, lot 1026

This specimen was lot 1026 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $786.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Gustav III. 1771–1792. AR Riksdaler. Stockholm mint. Olaf Lidijn, engraver. Dated 1780 OL. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 63. Lovely uncirculated specimen with moderate toning. Purchased from Ponterio & Associates, March 1991." This type was struck 1779-92 and most dates, including this one, are fairly common. The type is quite a bit more common than later types of Karl XIII and Karl XIV Johan.
