Sweden 1780-OL riksdaler specie Dav-1736
This specimen was lot 1026 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $786.50. The catalog description noted, "SWEDEN. Gustav III. 1771–1792. AR Riksdaler. Stockholm mint. Olaf Lidijn, engraver. Dated 1780 OL. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 63. Lovely uncirculated specimen with moderate toning. Purchased from Ponterio & Associates, March 1991." This type was struck 1779-92 and most dates, including this one, are fairly common. The type is quite a bit more common than later types of Karl XIII and Karl XIV Johan.
