Künker sale 294, lot 3218
This specimen was lot 3218 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €460 (about US$620 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEDEN, KÖNIGREICH, Gustav III. 1771-1792. Dukat 1777, Stockholm. GOLD. Fassungsspuren, gewellt, fast sehr schön. (kingdom of Sweden, Gustaf III, 1771-92, ducat of 1777, Stockholm mint. Mount removed, wavy, about very fine.)"
The SCWC notes two different ducats for 1777: KM 510, with no exergue on the reverse, struck 1771-92; and KM 511 with exergue (very rare). In the pre-reform Swedish coinage, 8 öre = 1 mark and 96 öre = one riksdaler.
