This specimen was lot 859 in Jean Elsen sale 112 (Brussels, March 2012) where it sold for € 240 ($375 including buyer's fee). The catalog description[1] noted,
"STAVELOT, Abbaye, Christophe de Manderscheid (1546-1576), AR rixdaler, 1570, Poulseur. Au titre de Maximilien II. Droit : Ecu heaumé de l'abbé. Revers : B. cour. et cuirassé de l'empereur à droite, tenant un sceptre et un globe crucigère. Provient de notre vente 80, 12 juin 2004, 1402. Nettoyé. Légère faiblesse de frappe. Très Beau." (Abbey of Stavelot, Christopher of Manderscheid (1546-1576), silver rixdaler of 1570, Poulseur mint, in the name of Maximilian II. Obverse: helmeted arms of the abbey; reverse: armored and crowned bust of the emperor to right, bearing a scepter and orb. From our sale 80, June 2004, lot 1402. Cleaned, slightly weak strike, very fine.)
